Ama J. Kuwonu (She/Her)

Ama is grateful to be making her regional theatre debut at American Players Theatre! Born in Lomé, Togo, and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she is a BFA graduate of the Chicago College of Performing Arts. Chicago credits include: Stop Kiss (Loose Canon), Twelfth Night, Good (OPFT), The Girl Who Was Different, Time Machine: A Tribute To The 80’s (Black Ensemble Theatre), Anna (Congo Square Theatre). Ama loves and remains curious about varying artistic mediums, believing them to be invaluable reflections of the world (imago mundi). Outside of the theatre, Ama grounds herself through yoga, running, and dance.
