MICHAEL HERWITZ is a New York-based director thrilled to be in his first season at APT. His credits include the Broadway and Off-Broadway productions of Max Wolf Friedlich’s JOB, the world or US premieres of Spare Parts by David J. Glass, Vermont, India by Luca Milstein, Cold Water by Philippa Lawford, and Dance Dance Revolution by Ethan Fuirst. Michael has developed new work with Ars Nova, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Carnegie Mellon University, Ensemble Studio Theater, Fault Line Theater, Martha's Vineyard Playhouse, University of Michigan, Pasadena Playhouse, People’s Light, Powerhouse Theater, and the Williamstown Theater Festival. Michael’s work on Casey and Diana is dedicated in loving memory to his mother, Helaine R. Hertzlich, a nurse practitioner who worked on the front lines of the HIV/AIDS epidemic from 1985 to 1992 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New York City.
