Michael is excited to return to APT, having previously performed in the 2000 season in A Midsummer Night's Dream, A Winter's Tale, and The Government Inspector. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Memphis where his focus is helping actors integrate voice skills and acting technique in performance. Michael was the founding Voice and Text Director for the Great River Shakespeare Festival, and he has performed with many regional theaters including the American Conservatory Theater, Missouri Rep, and the Utah and Idaho Shakespeare festivals. His certifications include Fitzmaurice Voicework, Knight-Thompson Speechwork, and Vocal Combat Technique, and he holds an MFA in Acting from the American Conservatory Theatre and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
