Please tell us about the Fall Art Tour!

The Fall Art Tour is free three-day tour exploring the working studios and artwork of over 65 unique artists. During the three-day tour, artists will be in their studios, demonstrating and selling their work. These artisans include painters, sculptors, potters, weavers, jewelers, woodworkers, mixed-media artists, and more. Many of these studios are open only for this event – providing a unique opportunity to meet the artists and purchase their work.

During the tour, artists demonstrate their techniques, share their inspiration, and provide behind-the-scenes access into their studios. Visitors will see firsthand how each artist creates their work and have the opportunity to ask questions. Watch painters bring life to an empty canvas and potters transform a piece of clay right before your eyes. Enjoy jewelers, sculptors, furniture makers, quilters, photographers, and many more. There are demonstrations at every studio along the way!

Can you share about the history of the Fall Art Tour?

The Fall Art Tour began in October 1994. Initially the tour represented 27 artists but it has grown into something much bigger since then. This year, 2026, marks the 33rd annual tour and it now hosts over 65 working artists in Mineral Point, Spring Green, Dodgeville, and Baraboo and the countrysides in between.

The Fall Art Tour is a celebration of talent and diversity, showcasing a wide range of styles, media, and subjects. Expect to see traditional, contemporary, and experimental pieces along the way. Original artwork is available for purchase in every price range.

What do you love about being part of the community?

The Driftless area of Wisconsin is special to us for so many reasons. The Fall Art Tour spans the communities of Mineral Point, Spring Green, Dodgeville, and Baraboo and the countrysides in between. Within those areas the artistic and creative energy is bursting! The tour explores 47 one-of-a-kind studios of over 65 artists, tucked into the rolling hills, bluffs, and valleys. No two studios are alike, nor are breathtaking views you’ll find as you meander through the Driftless region. Showcasing these unique artists, their inspiring studios, and the beautiful autumnal views is a pleasure we enjoy year after year. We love this area and cherish all the wonders it has to offer.

Why is the Fall Art Tour a good fit for APT audiences?

Just like the visitors of American Players Theatre, visitors of the Fall Art Tour are looking for an interesting, unique, and well rounded experience they can enjoy by themselves or share with their loved ones. Just like American Players Theatre, the Fall Art Tour offers guests an experience they will fondly remember for years to come.

What area attractions and local businesses would you recommend stopping into during the Fall Art Tour?

We’d recommend popping into any of the tour artists’ studios and galleries at any time throughout the year. Some are only open during the weekend of the tour but many are open year round. There’s so much talent in this area and we kindly invite you to explore all year round!
