Please tell us about Orchard Lawn!

Orchard Lawn is a restored 1868 house museum and event venue. We host engaging historic home tours on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from Memorial Day until the end of October on the hour from 12:00 PM -4:00 PM. We also host weddings, parties, events, gatherings, and Jammin' on the Porch - our summer concert series- on the second Friday and fourth Wednesday of the month at 6:00 PM. You can also come and explore our nine acres of arboretum anytime!


Share more about the history of Orchard Lawn.

Built in 1868, Orchard Lawn was the originally the homestead of the Gundry family. In 1936 when this historic Mineral Point mansion was slated for demolition, a group of eleven Mineral Point residents purchased the home for $800, saving the home and forming the Mineral Point Historical Society who still run the home and property today.

Jammin' on the Porch Concert Series: Second Friday & Fourth Wednesday of the month (June, July, August)

Our Summer Concert series, Jammin’ on the Porch, is held on the porch of our stunning 1868 Italianate Estate. Our evening outdoor concerts happen on the 2nd Friday and 4th Wednesday of June - September from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Bring family and friends, a blanket or lawn chairs, a cooler stocked with your favorite bites and refreshments. We will also have local vendors on-site to provide food and beverages. It is a great event for the entire family!

Historic Home Tours: Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM on the hour.

Tour this lovely 1868 historic Italianate home on nine acres, which includes gardens and an arboretum.


What's something people may be surprised to learn about Orchard Lawn?

Because of our long presence in the community, we have had the opportunity to evolve over the past almost 90 years. Orchard Lawn is now restored, which most people do not imagine when they see the vast property when arriving.


What do you love about being part of the Mineral Point community?

We love being a part of the rich history of the area and retelling it. We also love being able to host community events, community based concerts, and making ourselves available for the community's needs.

Why should the APT audience visit Orchard Lawn?

When visiting Orchard Lawn, history will come alive. Not only will you be immersed in local history, but you experience life in the late 1800's. The Gundry family library houses many of their favorite works, among those are Shakespeare and several other playwrights. You will also experience more of the rich history of Mineral Point and the surrounding Driftless Region in the museum.
