I traveled to Vermont in the late 1980's and 90's for work and pleasure. The Green Mountains of Vermont and the Driftless area of southwest Wisconsin have much in common. When I bought the house and surrounding land in 1992, appreciating the topology and surroundings, I called my new home, Vermont West. In 2006, we decided to rent out Vermont West for weekend and extended-stay vacation rentals so we could share what the home has to offer with others.
Guests to Vermont West will often comment about the variety of wildlife they see, including turkeys, deer, foxes, raccoons, sandhill cranes, and eagles to name a few. They also marvel at the perfectly-clear night-skies, devoid of light pollution, when viewing the Milky Way above.
There is something very special about Wisconsin's Driftless Region. Its hard-working people, wildlife, topology, climate and community make it unique. APT, Spring Green, the Wisconsin River Valley and the hills and ridges around it are at the heart of the southern Driftless Region. Whether you are looking to fly-fish, hike, bike or visit the small towns to shop, dine and explore, the Driftless Region will not disappoint.
