Vodka: A Love Story

So. You think you know Chekhov. Allow us to present this new adaptation, fresh as linens on a chill autumn breeze. If you don’t know the story, you’ll recognize the players – they’re our siblings, our neighbors, ourselves. Contradictory people with unruly passions, kept loosely in check by duty and vodka. They’re all so impossible; so outrageously loveable, you can’t help but cheer them on (when you don’t want to slap them silly). If even one person is willing to make a move, maybe things will finally work out. A torch song set to stage, funny and modern and poignant in turns, featuring a cast that can seize every shimmering moment.

Featuring Leslie Brott, Maggie Cramer, David Daniel, Casey Hoekstra, Brian Mani, Marcus Truschinski, Karen Janes Woditsch.

Synopsis

A crisp, entertaining new adaptation of Chekhov’s timeless story about longing, regret and missed opportunities. On a quiet country estate, Vanya and his niece Sonya have worked the land for years to support Sonya’s father, Serebryakov, a self-important professor who now resides at the estate with his free-spirited new wife, Yelena. Tensions simmer and desires ignite among the denizens of this little plot of land, as they debate and needle; dream and love beneath the shadow of impending change.

Contains adult themes and language. Contact the Box Office at 608-588-2361 for specific content information.
